identity collage.

When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one, which has been opened for us.”
- Helen Keller -
This collage from start to finish changed in many different ways. I had a lot of different ideas on what I was going to do. Starting with a pink surface, to an orange surface and then this...There are many meanings behind this collage, one having to do with the quote above. For me, there are many of different things that mean a lot to me  which I tried to show throughout the collage, and there are also many different things that people would not be able to make out or understand.

I had always liked this quote by Helen Keller. Its meaning to me is that doors may close, but there are always other unlimited numbers of doors and new opportunities. Nothing is ever going to be perfect, there are always going to be mistakes. Like problems in relationships, loss of money or job, and other unpleasant things, but we don’t always have control over things like this happening. We should always try and move forward and worry about now and your future rather than looking back at your past.

The inside and outside of the door represents a lot. It can relate and show that not only me, but most people think about one main thing or mostly things from their past rather than thinking about life day by day or about their future. Doing this collage I was trying to make myself realize that there is not only one door, but many doors…leading to many different opportunities, rather than looking at the outside of my door where it seems to have been just one big idea and then moving to the inside of the door where there were many different things (opportunities).
