Ceramics In-Progress.

In my opinion, clay is the best thing to work with when things go well, but unfortunately it doesn't always turn out that way. I love mixing glazes and seeing the turn out of all the colors I decide to put together. I've decided to make my dinner party set in memory of my grandmother, although I have never met her. It was difficult to find out things about someone who I don't know myself and would like to have known and done things based on an own experience. Some of her favorites were daffodils, rock gardens, gardening, and crocheting. She loved rice pudding, jewish Apple cake, the color yellow and her favorite song was, "Don't worry be Happy." I chose to make a bowl with a "rock garden "type border around the top edge and a "rock garden" type plate with a daffodil. I am in the process of wanting to make an oddly shaped cup which I'll figure out on what to do with the details later on, I might want to make it look crocheted. So far it's going really well and nothing has broken or came apart (knock on wood). I am excited to start glazing after I finish my set and to also show my mom. I do not have photos of my work right now, but I will be sure to upload photos of my work next week once my bowl comes out of the kiln.
